Electrical Software Engineer

RMS are recruiting for a long standing, renowned Tier 1 automotive supplier. They are looking for a Electrical Software Engineer to join the team in Peterlee.

Duties and Responsibilties:

To lead the development and design of electrical control systems and software for new and existing electrical systems to improve manufacturing and facilities.

• Lead the project management of electrical machine design, including drawings, software, assembly, parts ordering, and controlling of contractors to achieve schedule.
• Support electrical technicians on major breakdowns, offer technical support, work hands on, to provide electrical solutions to manufacturing issues
• Develop & train electrical technicians, focussing especially on upskilling their proficiency on software and enhancing their skillsets to support manufacturing.
• Work as part of Electrical Department team, tasked with creating and maintaining manufacturing capabilities and facilities.
• Responsible for leading electrical works relating to, work orders, machine overhaul, modifications, designs, drawings, and software.
• Control Budgets on Electrical Projects.

The ideal candidate must have:

• Minimum HNC (HND preferred) in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
• Recognised electrical apprenticeship.
• Proficient in the use of Omron software cx-one,sysmac studio and other various Electrical Software packages.
• Good understanding of the legal requirements and machine safety standards relating to electrical engineering.
• Project management skills,
• Sound understanding of electrical drive systems including inverters, and servos control systems.
• Use of AutoCAD for wiring diagrams and panel layouts.
• Take full responsibility and accountability in designing electrical systems.
• PC Literate, very familiar with a broad spectrum of commercially available software packages.
• Specialised skills in PLC networking including Ethernet, Ethercat, and Omron networks
