- These test and development engineer roles involve investigating, fault finding and resolving any electrical or mechanical issues to support the development of new and existing hydrogen, diesel or electric generator products.
- These are “hands-on” test development engineer roles where you will be responsible for writing and developing validation and verification tests, specifying and designing appropriate test procedures, building and setting up test equipment, carrying out generator testing, analysis of collected data and producing the necessary reports and documentation.
To be successful in this position, test development engineers will need to come with a broad range of electrical or mechanical skills to understand and test electrical schematics, power calculations and live system tests as well as noise, vibration & transportation testing, cooling and fuel system trials etc.
Other skills: Test & Development Engineer
- HNC or degree in electrical engineering, electronics, mechanical engineering, automotive or similar
- Demonstrate ability to take responsibility for the test, fault finding and build of electrical and mechanical subsystems and working with design teams to suggest changes
- Process driven with an outstanding grasp of DVP, DFMEA, test process development and sign-off
- Background working on heavy machinery, generators, rolling stock, Oil and Gas or high-power distribution systems
- Ability to work as part of a large team interacting with engineers internally as well as external suppliers and test facilities
- Fault tree analysis / FMEA / practical problem solving
- BS7671 18th edition desirable
