Role: Electrical Test Engineer
Reporting To: Electrical Engineering Manager
Job Description: Your job is primarily to test control panels and proprietary equipment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Managing Schedule
- Organising your workload to meet factory wide key dates. Ensuring documentation is in place before commencing tests.
- Communicating with other departments your schedule requirements.
- Liaising with other departments to ensure equipment is ready before commencing tests.
- Preparing control panels and equipment for dispatch.
- Manage documentation and communicating with subcontractors to ensure documentation is up to date.
- Undertaking Control Panel and Proprietary Equipment Tests
- Moving large control panels and equipment into test area. o Installing temporary power and data cables.
- Installing PLCs and HMIs.
- Reading wiring diagrams.
- Testing LV Switchgear
- Following and documenting test checklists.
- Managing test checklist templates.
- Modifying wiring and electrical equipment.
- Modifying and reassembling mechanical parts.
- Photographing equipment.
Qualifications:
* NVQ Level 3 - Electrical Installation or similar/equivalent.
* Forklift License/Certificate would be an advantage.
Qualities/Skills:
* Computer literacy is a must, with Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency.
* Must have good attention to detail, with strong problem solving, communication and time management skills.
* A logical thinker, who can design and follow procedures to ensure consistent results.
* Functional Safety experience/knowledge would be an advantage.
* Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC basic knowledge would be an advantage.
Usual Place of Work:
This is an office-factory hybrid-based role at our Gamlingay factory. This role is not suitable for working from home.
Hours
This is a full-time role. 09:00-17:00 Monday to Friday.
