Electrician

Equans is looking for an Electrician to join our team in Sidcup, London on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £40,000 – £44,000, dependent upon skills and experience plus company benefits package.

Equans is looking for an Electrician to join our Testing & Inspection team. You will have skills & experience as a T&I Electrician and this position plays a vital role within our team. You will be responsible for assesing, testing & inspecting electrical equipment on our sites. Along with making sure electrical components meet the industry standards and regulations.

What will you deliver?

• Work with Site Manager to identify obsolete and end-of-life-cycle equipment for input into the forward maintenance plan and updating of the asset register
• Operate and maintain the plant at the sites identified above in line with existing procedures
• Supervise works carried out by specialist sub-contractors, reporting anomalies to the Contract Supervisor / Site Management
• Complete PPM and reactive works activities in accordance with contract requirements
• Ensure all statutory records are kept up to date and available for inspection
• To attend site in response to breakdowns or failures of the equipment outside of normal working hours (call outs)
• To be familiar with and understand the site contingency plans for dealing with emergency situations
• To carry out scheduled Electrical testing and Inspection maintenance tasks including but not limited to Emergency Lighting, ECIR, Illumination Levels, Infra-Red, Motors, PAT, Static Discharge, Lightening Protection
• To ensure that the Site Manager/T&I Supervisor is kept informed of all aspects of safety performance, plant performance and customers circumstances
• To assist in producing Method Statements and Risk Assessments

Who are we looking for?

• Apprenticeship, primary trade qualifications and substantial experience within a building services and manufacturing environment
• ONC/C&G or equivalent in an electrical engineering discipline (Essential)
• C&G 2391, or equivalent Testing & Inspection (Essential)
• 18th Edition Electrical Qualification (Essential)
• HND/HNC Electrical Qualification (Desirable)
• CMMS (SAM FM) (Desirable)
• Experience within Building Services & Manufacturing environment (Desirable)
• Team player
• Physically fit
