Your new role
Tasks you will likely be required to undertake on a day to day basis include -

• Small to medium size installations/alterations works as part of building refurbishment or change of use projects.
• Planned and reactive maintenance activities in the University\'s academic buildings, residences, and sports facilities.
• Repair tasks across the range of electrical building services, plant and equipment
• Some simple mechanical work

You will also be required to taking part in an on-call rota, which attracts an additional allowance with overtime opportunities also available.
What you\'ll need to succeed
In order to be successful in your application for this role, it is essential that you hold a recognised electrical qualification (either City and Guilds or NVQ) as well as your 18th edition wiring regulations qualification. It would be beneficial if you were to hold your 2391 Test and Inspection qualification and also hold knowledge and experience in the maintenance of modern fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, LV distribution, intruder alarms, access control systems, telephone and data wiring. Relevant technical experience in larger buildings or commercial facilities is also required.
