My client is a well-established and leading organisation based in Newtownards, who are currently seeking an experienced Electrician to join their team.
This is a Full-Time, 2-year contract to mentor an apprentice – with an immediate start.
Hours of work: 37 hours per week (on rare occasions, out of hours work may be required due to operational requirements)
With an hourly rate of £22 per hour with Transport provided.
Job Role:
You will be responsible for undertaking general electrical duties for the Infrastructure and Property Department.
Essential Criteria:
• Previous experience working in a similar role.
• Time served apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3, or City & Guilds (or equivalent) in Joinery.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal – with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to work as part of a team and unsupervised.
• Ability to work weekends and out of normal hours.
• Able to work at heights.
• Full current driving licence.
Desirable Criteria:
• Previous experience working in a facilities maintenance role.
• Experience of working in a railway environment.
• Other valid Rulebook Competencies i.e. Lookout, TSC.
• Valid CSR card.
• Valid PTS card.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Undertake general electrical duties across the estate, this includes response maintenance and planned maintenance.
• Carry out safety duties: Lookout & TSC.
• Train and mentor apprentices.
• Drive company vehicles to various locations throughout Northern Ireland.
• Collect and deliver building materials.
• Perform such duties as, power washing, cleaning, winter salting of platforms and general construction work. The role will require the use of various plant and machinery and include work at heights.
• Work alongside various Building Maintenance Contractors.
• Inspect and report defects across the estate.
• Use Smart technologies – apps / mobile phone / tablet – to log and complete tasks.
• Undertake projects & works that will improve the asset and ensure statutory compliance.
