Job description

Become part of the team with a client of ours, where Energy Power Resources is a leading player in the renewable energy sector, making substantial contributions to biomass energy production for the domestic market, primarily through the combustion of chicken litter!

As a Technician reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your main responsibility will be to conduct routine and defect maintenance work, ensuring the plant and equipment's reliability, availability, and output are optimized. Key duties include adhering to safe working practices, executing maintenance activities in line with approved processes, investigating and solving plant problems, preparing technical reports, maintaining records, and supervising staff when directed by the O&M Manager/OTL/MTL.

Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to safe working practices and procedures.
- Execute routine and non-routine maintenance activities following approved processes.
- Investigate and resolve plant problems.
- Prepare and present technical reports.
- Maintain work and activity records.
- Perform continuous plant condition monitoring routines.
- Ensure effective planning with adequate resources.
- Supervise staff and contracted personnel as directed.
- Support the line manager in work preparation.
- Foster good working relationships within the team.
- Provide cover for Maintenance coordination in their absence.
- Understand cost implications and power generation in your areas of work.
- Adhere to the SHE Management System consistently.

The ideal candidate should possess a high level of technical plant awareness, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience with safe work systems. A 'time-served' apprenticeship, a minimum of 5 years of power generation/utility experience, and an ONC or equivalent qualification are preferred. Strong communication and IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft products and Maintenance Management System software, are required. The position involves an On-Call requirement, with a four-week rotation call-out rota for first-line breakdown cover on-site, day or night, over a seven-day period.
