Position:Electrochemical Scientist (KTP Associate) 

Based at:Ceimig Limited, Dundee 

Salary: Up to £40,740 

The role: 

An exciting opportunity has become available for a recent graduate to work full time on a 34-month Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) to develop technical data on ink formulation for different catalyst categories across various deposition methods for Proton Exchange Membrane electrolysers and fuel cells. 

Employed and supported by an academic team from the University, you will be based at Ceimig's premises in Dundee.

Qualifications we require: 

• Masters' degree in relevant area e.g., Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with exposure to inks/electrochemistry etc., through placement or project work. 
• PhD in Electrochemistry / Analytical Inorganic Chemistry or demonstrable equivalent experience and Post Doctoral experience in Electrochemistry / Applied Inorganic Chemistry or a related discipline is desirable 

Application requirements: 

Skills: 

• Expertise in electrocatalysis, electrochemistry, and materials characterisation with desirable knowledge in catalysts for fuel cells and electrolysers 
• Laboratory/electrochemical experiment skills – experience with a range of testing protocols and equipment such as rheology/PSD/SEM/EDX/Visual checks and ability to coherently analyse data 
• Capability to conduct high-quality research and producing scientific manuscripts and technical reports

Experience: 

• Working at a chemical manufacturing / R&D site, understanding the commercial concerns of a chemical product company

• Minimal exposure to good scientific practice and health & safety requirements at a chemical manufacturing / R&D site
