Are you our next Electronic Device Production Supervisor?

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Breas UK for a technical supervisor to manage our Clearway 2 device assembly and test teams.

We require an ambitious, hands-on technical leader to supervise our Clearway 2 build and test teams through a period of sustained growth.

Clearway 2 is a medical grade cough assist device which helps our customers to clear airway providing relief and improving our customer’s quality of life. The ideal candidate comes with a strong technical knowledge of testing and diagnosis relating to Electronic Devices and with the ability to lead a team during a time of transition and growth.

Main responsibilities

  • Responsible for the production and test teams for both sub- and device assembly with key measures being personnel availability, personnel competence, personnel costs, productivity and quality output.
  • Responsible for finished medical device testing, component testing inclusive of PCBs, solenoids and any other related components, PCB testing, programming, PAT testing and soak testing.
  • To ensure the final configuration of the device is completed accurately
  • To quarantine and segregate failures, investigate, fix minor issues, and to work closely with the QA department to ensure failures are reactively and proactively resolved.
  • To record first pass yield failures and help determine quality trends.
  • Responsible for the induction, upskilling, mentoring and well being of team.
  • To manage the resource/team to ensure deadlines are hit.
  • To assist in the recruitment of new team members.
  • To support company continous improvement initiatives and make recommendations for additional projects.
  • To support, embrace and communicate the company’s values.
  • To support and engage with management requests and follow company procedures.
  • To support R&D activities and assist in engineering changes.
  • To ensure departmental compliance to ESD protocols and wider regulatory requirments.
  • To flex tasks as per management requests.
  • To be an active, hands-on team member primarily conducting tests on Clearway 2 devices or constructing devices.
  • To independently manage the teams time and resources ensuring that output is meeting the build plans and relevant reporting is completed.
  • To investigate and develop new working methodologies to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the department’s output.
  • To liaise with other departments to ensure that the flow of devices in to the department is maintained, that R&D/engineering changes are carried out and business objectives are met.
  • To work closely with the Operations Director, the sourcing team and build team to ensure continuity of supply is maintained and issues are addressed.
  • To understand, contribute to, and to conduct improvement projects related to the department’s and company’s KPIs.
  • To be the technical expert in electrical and electronic testing able to fault find and conduct fixes on devices.
  • To provide guidance, mentorship and training to team members
  • To lead the team, embrace the company values and to enhance the company’s positive culture
  • To maintain, calibrate and commission test equipment.
  • To implement and enforce ESD and quality control standards.

To be successful in this job, we believe that you possess the following requirements and skills.

  • A strong technical knowledge of test and diagnostics relating to Electronic Devices
  • A track history of successfully managing teams and developing a positive working culture
  • Experience of working within a production environment with an understanding of manufacturing principles
  • A demonstratable history of driving efficiencies
  • Experience of managing a team during a time of change
  • Experience in working within a highly regulated environment
  • Previous experience of working with medical devices and ISO13485 a plus, but not essential
