Electronic Hardware Design Engineer

Bringing to market another exclusive role, Express Recruitment are delighted to be representing a client who manufacture a range of unique electronic instrumentation products for a host of leading sectors. Our client is seeking a Electronic Hardware Design Engineer to join their talented team.  

This role will focus on Electronic Hardware Design with both digital and analogue domains.   

In return, the successful candidate can expect a salary of between £30,000-£43,000, depending on experience, with promise of continued investment in training and regular salary reviews upon completed training milestones.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Support across various ongoing NPD projects  
• Assist in maintenance and development of existing product across the product portfolio  
• Create and maintain clear and concise documentation  
• Collaborate with internal Electrical/Electronic Engineers to ensure the design meets all stringent requirements, including ISO9001:2015 quality standard 
• Assist internal Engineering team with calibration and test procedures, test routines, result specification and uncertainty of errors for both (UKAS) ISO 17025 and standard calibration 

Qualifications & Experience

• Qualifications/Certificates relevant to FPGA, electronics, or digital electronics essential 
• Exposure to RTL design and coding experience with VHDL (or Verilog) beneficial 
• Knowledge of CPU or DSP architectures advantageous  
• Ability to learn how to develop large Altera and Xilinx FPGAs using VHDL (or Verilog)  
• Experience in analogue and digital design highly desirable  
• Schematic entry and PCB knowledge a bonus  
• Some exposure to programming in C language 
• Further exposure to EMC Compliance and UKAS calibration
