A leading designer and manufacturer of lighting control systems is looking for an Electronics Design Engineer to join their expanding team based in Hertfordshire. The role involves close collaboration with their embedded software and mechanical Design Engineers to pioneer the next generation of environmentally friendly lighting control products, LED drivers, and multi-sensors.
Responsibilities of the Electronics Design Engineer
- Design and develop innovative lighting control systems, electronic transformers, and LED systems.
- Utilise expertise in analogue and power electronics to design efficient electronic circuits and PCB layouts using Altium software.
- Conduct testing and analysis to ensure product functionality, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to understand requirements, provide technical support, and incorporate feedback into product design.
- Communicate project status, challenges, and recommendations to the R&D Manager and stakeholders, while maintaining comprehensive documentation.
Skills/experience required of the Electronics Design Engineer:
- Degree level or equivalent in Electronics Engineering or related field
- Switched mode power supplies
- Triac, IGBT, and MOSFET control
- Design-for-manufacture/test principles
- EMC testing
- Multi-layer PCB layout using Altium
- Custom inductor design
- RF experience with 2.4GHz and sub 1GHz radio systems is advantageous
Electronics Design Engineer Benefits:
