Electronics Engineering Manager

CK Group are recruiting for an Electronics Engineering Manager on behalf a leading provider of R&D consultancy services, to be based at their site in Sedgefield on a permanent basis.

About the role:
The main purpose of this position is to provide high level technical leadership and expertise, managing and developing a team to deliver agreed programmes of work to required standards within the Photonics and Electronics technology centre .
Your responsibilities will include:

• Drawing upon a broad range of technical know how in electronic product development to provide carefully thought through advice and expertise to the team and a range of stakeholders across the organisation.
• Meeting with clients to understand their needs, to provide guidance and presenting a professional face for the organisation.
• Effectively managing the team’s goals and performance, sharing and translating area strategy.
• Ensuring identification and delivery of departmental goals, through utilisation of appropriate management styles.
• Creating and managing the team's budget ensuring all financial transactions involving the company comply with existing tendering procedures, and that income and expenditure is appropriate to their budget.
• Identifying new technical developments and trends, translate these into building blocks for opportunities within the technology team, initiating the creation of (new) technological innovations/applications.
• Acting as a credible partner with Bid Development teams to clients ensuring that the technical elements of the bid are fully defined and agreed with the client.

About you:
To be considered for the position, you should have the following skills and experience:

• Educated to a minimum of degree level (or possess equivalent experience) in a relevant electronics discipline.
• Experience of people management, ideally with a formalised management qualification or training.
• Significant technical expertise in Electronics Engineering with complex technical problem solving skills.
• Professional mastery in electronics system design and development.
