The successful Electronics Team Lead will be responsible for leading a team of 7 muti-disciplined R&D and engineering professionals, providing expertise across electronics design and hardware development who are working to design and develop innovative solutions to the biotech and medical industry.
This opportunity will suit an experienced electronics engineering professional who has experience of leading and developing team members whilst being at the forefront of design. It is expected the role will be 80% leadership and 20% hands on electronics design and development.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team of hardware and electronic engineers.
- Provide technical oversight in electronic product design, ensuring product reliability and innovation.
- Have a hands-on approach to electronics design including analogue and digital electronic design.
- Mentor and guide the professional growth of team members.
- Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss progress, brainstorm solutions, and ensure alignment.
- Contribute to and maintain a collaborative and productive environment.
- Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Develop and implement best practice and strategic plans to achieve product objectives within set timelines.
- Review and approve design documentation.
- Work with the project management team to ensure timely delivery of projects, balancing scope, quality, cost and schedule.
- Liaise with other departments, including Research, Software, Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality & Sales to ensure seamless product development.
- Engage with external partners, suppliers, and stakeholders as needed.
Skills & Experience required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Hardware Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven track record in electronics design and development and the ability to design specialist electronics instruments consisting of analogue and digital electronics.
- Proven track record of successfully leading teams, including mentoring, training, and developing team members.
- Proven track record of successfully launching products from conception through to market.
- Excellent communication skills.
