Job Description

Alamiyah School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and attentive lead Montessori teacher to lead an Elementary Class spanning ages 7 - 11. This is a rare opportunity to join an innovative and unique Montessori School with a Muslim Faith Ethos, to drive forward the learning needs of the pupils. We are seeking a dynamic individual who has a passion for Montessori and Islamic education to come forward and help us shape an education which can serve the needs of all children.

The successful candidate will:

  • Successfully engage each individual pupil through the employment of a Montessori pedagogy
  • Respond to the needs of the children through a positive approach to discipline
  • Committed to the Muslim faith ethos and Montessori approach at Alamiyah
  • Be an inspirational class leader capable of delivering the SMSC curriculum to a wide age range
  • Willing to engage in CPD training
  • Passionate about furthering the aims and objectives of the school

Main Duties:

  • Preparing a Montessori environment suitable for the elementary child aged 7 - 11
  • Planning for each pupil individually using the Alamiyah teacher planning formats
  • Presenting Montessori individual and group lessons during the morning workcycle
  • Performing observations and assessments
  • Overseeing pupils during the Montessori workcycle
  • Maintaining assessment records and tracking pupil progress
  • Writing reports and providing feedback to parents and to the headteacher
  • Providing care to pupils including outdoor play and lunch supervision
  • Maintaining a tidy and organized learning environment

The post is subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS clearance and further vetting checks including satisfactory references. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to visit the school for an interview in order to gain a clear understanding of the school ethos and advertised role.
