To work alongside the ELSEC project lead and advisory teacher in developing and delivering the ELSEC project with a focus on sustainability. To develop effective working relationships with parents/carers/schools and key stakeholders, seeking views to help develop a responsive and needs-led service. To support the research, creation and delivery of high quality evidence-based interventions focussing on universal, targeted, and where needed specialist support. To support children with speech, language and communication needs to have easy access to high quality interventions. To be responsible for the induction, supervision and development of clinical and non-clinical skills of several Support Practitioners within the ELSEC Team, undertaking appraisal and performance management. To support the collection and reporting of information and data, and present information effectively to demonstrate the effectiveness and impact of the project. To link with, and support, the clinical work within the mainstream schools programme in Luton. To provide assessment, advice and support/interventions in relation to children requiring specialist Speech and Language support as needed. To undertake administrative duties connected with a caseload including maintenance of case notes and provision of written reports, following service standards as required. To ensure that all work is carried out in close collaboration with all those involved in childrens care so that the approach to intervention and support is co-ordinated and comprehensive. Ensure that preceptorship is integrated with professional standards, supervision, continuing professional development (CPD), and core clinical competencies (HEE, 2015).
