Job Title: Email Marketing Manager

Type of Contract: Full time (part-time considered)

Job Summary

The Burghley Estate is a diverse business based in Stamford, Lincolnshire.  At the heart of the Estate is Burghley House, set within 1,500 acres of historic parkland.  Business interests include Burghley House, Gardens and Adventure Play visitor attractions, a busy programme of public and private events including the world renowned 5* Defender Burghley Horse Trials, Burghley Park Golf Club and a significant property portfolio.

Working with our marketing team, you’ll be in charge of developing and implementing a cohesive Email Marketing strategy to support key business objectives.

This newly created role will bring expertise and focus in Email Marketing and database management as we continue to expand reach, grow our known audiences and build strong relationships with our visitors and supporters.

The marketing department is a centralised function within Burghley and you’ll be immersed in all aspects of this diverse 500 year old estate. You’ll find yourself creating a wide range of content and working with colleagues from across the business for example the visitor operations team, events team, gardens team, forestry, education, retail and more.

There will be a strong focus on the visitor attraction business and the Defender Burghley Horse Trials as a priority area, with a longer-term objective to build out the Email Marketing strategy across the entire organisation.

We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record in Email Marketing who is excited about an opportunity to unlock the potential that exists with this channel at Burghley.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct an end-to-end review of current provision, identify efficiencies and improvements
  • Develop a database and Email Marketing strategy to support key business objectives
  • Identify opportunities for database growth of key audiences
  • Advanced segmentation of audiences to enable personalisation of content
  • Plan, create, test and deploy single and multi-step email campaigns to maximise engagement, nurture relationships, activate sales
  • Plan and execute campaigns for upselling, renewal and retention
  • Create and build compelling, on brand email content
  • Planning online customer journeys to optimise user experience and conversion
  • Evaluate performance, produce reports, analyse statistics and insights. Use data to find creative solutions and more engaging content

Skills

  • Ability to utilise marketing automation technology
  • Working knowledge of advanced email and digital marketing trends
  • Experience with email automation tools (e.g. Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp, AWeber)
  • Exceptional working knowledge on marketing communications including advertising, promotions, sales, branding and online promotion
  • Confident in creating high quality, memorable content
  • Great time-management and planning
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Flawless knowledge of email compliance and best practice
