Embedded software engineer.

AG Products is a leading company focussed on improving the agricultural industry through innovative software solutions. Leading the industry though innovation, this is an attractive opportunity to inspire change within Agriculture. We design, manufacture, sell and support, systems for the Agricultural industry. We are currently recruiting for the position of Embedded Electronics Engineer at our Cheshire office.

We are looking for someone with drive and a creative mind, capable of solving complex problems in a neat, simple and reliable fashion. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can get things done.

What your role will consist of as - Embedded software engineer
Understand the requirements of future innovations, plan component requirements and generate new concepts for products and circuits.

Improve existing products, Driving problem-solving activities, Deriving Root Cause Analysis investigations.
Perform comprehensive engineering calculations, circuit simulations, and tolerance analysis.
Lead and drive multiple projects and design reviews with peers and project management
Ensure changes follow regulations and standards
Implement and conduct testing protocols on components and assemblies.

Requirements and Qualification-

  • 4+ Years of experience delivering functioning commercial Embedded software
  • BSc or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
  • Excellent C/C++ skills, Proficient with scripting languages: Python
  • Experience programming with microcontrollers, such as Arduino.
  • Debugging and documentation skills
  • Skilled in reproducing software issues and detailed oriented
  • Experience in common interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, USB, etc;
  • Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Good understanding of Micro-service architectures
  • Practical skills in directly working with hardware

Nice to haves 

  • Good understanding of modern QA methodologies and practices.
  • Familiarity with distributed version control software (ideally Github);
  • Best practice understanding and experience of motors, power supplies, sensors, and actuators;
  • Leadership qualities, including leading and developing engineers.
  • Experience in leading projects and teams in low-volume manufacturing
  • Prototype Testing: We can assist with prototype testing to verify the functionality and performance of the design.

Working in a collaborative environment, you will lead the development of embedded electronics, sensors, motor drives, and actuators that form the core instrumentation.
