My client based in Redruth is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer
The Software Engineering department is a small, agile team, responsible for developing new products; and maintaining and supporting existing products. Much of the work is in embedded systems, working closely with the electronic engineering team. However, there is also work in application development and web interfaces. As such, the role offers exposure to a wide variety of both products and platforms.
You will have responsibility for the following:
Developing Embedded Software in C.
Peer reviewing code.
Unit testing, for example using gtest.
Developing desktop application software in C/C++.
Developing web interfaces using JavaScript and node.js.
System testing.
Providing technical support for existing products, occasionally at sea.
Essential Prerequisites
An ability to demonstrate a high level of C programming.
A degree, HNC or equivalent in a STEM subject.
An understanding of electronics.
A scientific approach to fault finding.
A focus on producing high-quality software.
Experience with source control, preferably git.
Experience with serial and network communications.
Confidence working as an individual, or within a team.
Desire to learn and continually improve your knowledge.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Organised with good time management skills.
Motivated individual
Detail focused individual
Eligible to work in the UK.
Desirable
Valid passport
Full UK driving licence.
Experience within the offshore/marine industry
This role is paying 36,000 - 46,000 per Annum
