Job description

The Manchester College has many Campus locations across Greater Manchester, each with its own specialist cutting-edge facilities within a friendly and supportive environment. We are the largest Further Education College in the UK providing education and training to a wide range of learners.

We have an exciting opportunity at our Wythenshawe Campus to join us as Employability and Partnership Co-ordinator on a permanent, full time (35 hours per week) basis.

This role is pivotal in planning, coordinating, and executing business development and innovation events, whilst also fostering further growth across the Greater Manchester community. The role will see you driving business growth, requiring high levels of communication with a wide range of stakeholders and a strong ability to build and nurture relationships within the business community.

Additional parts of the Business Development responsibilities will see you engaging with employers to target the needs of the community through the local skills improvement plan, whilst also contributing to the national needs across the UK.

As an Employability and Partnership Co-ordinator You will be responsible for developing and securing a wide range of work-related activities, supporting learners, tracking, monitoring, and enhancing their employability skills and curriculum. You will be required to work in partnership with the College's Careers, Employability and Welfare team, the Student Experience team and with curriculum departments to deliver an outstanding professional employability service. This will be achieved by offering a range of training and support for learners through 1:1 and group support prior to and during work placements, volunteering, projects, mock interviews, applications for work and other work-related activities.

Accountabilities

  • Business Event Planning and Development- Plan and execute innovative business events, including conferences, workshops, and networking sessions · Coordinate logistics, venue selection, catering, technology requirements, and overall event management Community building.
  • Develop and implement strategies to build and grow our innovation community.
  • Maintain records of contacts / update CRM / track enquiries and BIA engagements
  • Cultivate relationships with local businesses, entrepreneurs, and industry partners.
  • Networking Opportunities - Create and facilitate networking opportunities within events to enhance community interaction.
  • Establish partnerships with local organisations to expand the reach of the community.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Level 2 literacy or numeracy (or equivalent)
  • Qualified to drive, with use of a car for travelling to stakeholder events and external meetings.
  • Degree or relevant professional qualification would be desirable
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle would be desirable
  • Experience and knowledge of one or more specific industries is desirable
