Job description

Find where you belong!

Are you passionate about people? Do you thrive in an environment where you can facilitate best practice and champion accountability? Are you results driven and keen to see complex issues resolved? Then our ER (Employee Relations) Advisor could be just the role for you!

What’s it all about?

As an ER Advisor, you will be joining an award winning People Team, providing specialist advice and case management for a range of ER cases, with a varied level of complexity, through to successful resolution. Therefore, building and shaping your stakeholder relationships is going to be critical to your success.

As you would expect, the role will include (but is not limited to) fact finding, disciplinary, grievance, whistleblowing as well as actively managing ACAS and employment tribunal claims and settlements alongside our legal partners.

You will also play a key role in upskilling and coaching our people managers and support in the delivery of some of the relevant training and development programmes.

Why Travelodge?

We believe in creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can be their true self and belong. We work hard to improve the diversity of our teams and celebrate our differences. And we care about our colleagues’ wellbeing, so we ensure there are plenty of resources available so everyone can look after their emotional, physical, financial and work wellbeing. We call this “Better Me”.

Who will this appeal to?

You will already likely be an experienced HR professional with great generalist knowledge, now looking to focus more specifically on Employee Relations. Your understanding and previous experience in employment litigation and employment tribunal claims handling, coupled with a basic knowledge of key employment legislation will give you a great springboard into our role.

We are a fast paced, forward thinking and commercial business and within ER that means the ability to be agile with the changing priorities of your role whilst reacting with good judgement to cases or issues that arise, working autonomously to advise on the right course of action or decision. You enjoy being a role model and acting with integrity, confidentiality and sensitivity.

What are the extra benefits of working for Travelodge?

  • Salary of £33,000 - £34,500
  • Hybrid working - a minimum of 60% of your time should be spent in the office, but you’re welcome to come in every day if you prefer!
  • 50% personal discount for hotel bookings and great friends and family discounts too!
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays, increasing with length of service
  • Annual bonus (discretionary)
  • A focus on learning and career development
