Employment Coach

Location: Barking, London

Salary: GBP25,200 - GBP28,000 per annum

The Forward Trust is a fast growing Matrix Standard, ERSA Employability Awards 2020 Highly Commended vocational training, skills and employability provider. As part of community contracts including the Mayor of London's Good Work for All Adult Education Budget scheme we are looking for an experienced, committed and enthusiastic Employment Coach.

What you will be doing

As Coaches working to our Team Leader/Operational Manager you will be supporting unemployed individuals to progress into an exciting career by providing information, advice and guidance, employability support, job search, confidence building and interview skills support. We have great systems for you to use and you will be using our management information system, and provide regular contact to keep them focused, motivated and confident to gain sustainable employment.We have a dedicated employer engagement team with great employer partners to help you access those roles for your clients/learners.

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, go getting and very practical individual who is committed to delivering high quality information, advice and guidance and progressing clients into good quality employment that will help them succeed in their lives. We want people who genuinely care about the people they are supporting and not just going through the motions.

Person Specification

  • Experience of working on DWP or similar employment related services contracts
  • Experience of working with Job Centre Plus Work Coaches and other referral agencies
  • Experience of providing careers advice, IAG, job search, interview practice and progressing learners/clients into sustainable work
  • Experience of using management information systems and producing performance reports
  • Knowledge of the local labour market
  • Sound knowledge of welfare to work, payment by results contracts
  • Member of the Institute of Employability Professionals
