Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Employment Law Consultant to join our clients in-house legal team at a leading software consultancy firm in Manchester. The ideal candidate will provide expert legal guidance on employment matters, ensuring legal compliance and fostering a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Advice and Consultation: Offer expert legal advice on various Employment Law issues, including employee relations, contract negotiations, terminations, and workplace policies, tailored to the unique needs of a software consultancy business.
- Case Management: Efficiently manage Employment Law cases, from initial advice to resolution, including drafting legal documents and representing the company in any legal disputes or employment tribunals.
- Policy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of employment policies and practices that comply with legal standards and align with the company's culture and objectives in the technology sector.
- Training and Compliance: Conduct regular training sessions for management and staff on Employment Law matters and ensure the company's adherence to all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify legal risks associated with employment practices and advise on risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Educational Background: A degree in law, preferably with a specialisation in Employment Law.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in Employment Law, with a preference for candidates who have worked in-house, particularly in the technology or consultancy sectors.
- Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of UK Employment Law and its application in the business context.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in an accessible manner.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to resolving legal issues.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, providing support and advice to various departments within the company.
