Address Key Purpose The post holder is responsible for Endoscopy Decontamination, providing advice to managers on the compliance of decontamination processes with regulatory standards, The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of one of the two Endoscopy Decontamination units (located at Denmark Hill and PRUH sites) including Endoscopy Decontamination processes, the line management of staff, ordering and management of stock and ensuring turnaround times are met. The post holder will also be responsible for the strategic management of decontamination services, including providing a professional advisory role in line with national guidelines and to be accountable for the implementation of all statutory and regulatory requirements (e.g. European Standards BS.EN ISO 13485:2016. Medical Devices Regulation (MDR) as amended by 2007/47/EEC, HTM 01-01 & 01-06) as well as managing the risks consistent with clinical governance requirements.
The post holder will play an active role in the Trust Infection Control Committee and Decontamination Committee. Key Accountabilities Accountable for the delivery of a flexible endoscope decontamination service within professional standards particularly those pertaining to ISO 13485: 2016, HTM 01-06 and the Institute of Decontamination Sciences Standards and Practice document Act as the Designated User for Endoscopy Decontamination in collaboration with the Deputy Designated User in respect of washer disinfectors and drying/storage cabinets, in accordance with HTM 01-06 and the Trust Decontamination policy Management of equipment used for providing the service (washer / disinfectors, RO units, drying cabinets etc), ensuring equipment is maintained as regulatory standards dictate and authorise the safe use of equipment after validating engineers test reports Deliver a responsive decontamination service is delivered to all service users within the Trust and that KPIs and turnaround times are achieved on a consistent basis.
