The position

By joining our team in Marketing, Midstream & Processing you will have the opportunity to:


Work with Energy Analysis or Policy & Regulations in the Global External Analysis (GEA) team. We enable Equinor to successfully navigate the energy transition by transforming external information into business insight and understanding. GEA is responsible for global short-, medium- and long-term analysis of energy markets and for the follow-up and the development of the legislative, regulatory & energy policy frameworks for all products Equinor produces and sells. GEA delivers macroeconomics, political analysis, competitor intelligence, market analysis, Policy & regulatory support, and crude quality evaluations to trading, marketing, projects, business development and strategy development activities and projects across Equinor, as well as to top management. We are spread at several locations and our group includes more than 20 different nationalities. Our core tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Conduct rigorous research and in-depth analysis in the energy markets, industry and external developments to perform fundamental analysis that supports investment decisions and strategies.

  • Communicate Analysis And insights to internal stakeholders, such as commercial units, business development, corporate strategy teams, and top management.

  • Monitor, shape, and influence future energy policies and regulations in line with Equinor business strategies and business development.

  • Represent Equinor's interests, externally (regulators, governmental bodies, etc.) and interact with internal stakeholders to advise on policy and regulations trends, opportunities, and risks.

  • Monitor and report on key market, industry, and geopolitical developments to identify business opportunities and risks for Equinor.

  • Support traders on crude quality developments, technical support and valuation of crudes, including issuing and advice on crude oil assays.

  • Develope and maintain models and tools to support the production of market reports, forecasts, and scenario planning.

  • Continuously hone analytical skills and keeping up-to-date with external trends and developments.

  • Bachelor’s, master’s or advance degree in economics, business and finance, industrial economics, engineering, political sciences, data sciences, or other relevant disciplines.

  • A high degree of analytical skills and genuine interest in the energy industry are essential for success.

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.

  • Reliable team player with excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills.

  • Fluent in English (both orally and in wiriting), and preferably communication skills in a second working language.

  • The required knowledge to fulfil a role within one of the following teams:

    • Crude, Products, Low Carbon Liquids and LNG Shipping.
    • Gas, Power and Low Carbon Gas.
    • Policy and Regulatory Affairs.
    • Geopolitics, Energy, Industry and Macroeconomics.
