This is where we need you, we are recruiting for an Environmental Engineer to join our team. You’ll use your skills to develop, lead & support Environmental and Energy initiatives within our Northfleet mill, whilst ensuring continuous improvement of the EHS and Energy Management Systems. This all drives Northfleet’s compliance with its Environmental permits and other regulatory requirements.

About you
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Environmental:
Leads in ensuring the required Environmental responsibilities are being carried out fully across the Mill
Lead UK Energy Initiatives
Build the capability of the effluent control teams to facilitate continuous improvement of operations and activities.
Lead the Management of change process for any change to mill operations that may impact on environmental compliance.
Maintain and improve the Environmental Management System to ensure that environmental permits and Kimberly-Clark performance standards are achieved.
Ensure that the critical reporting deadlines are met accurately and on time so that legislation is not breached.
Manage relationships with Enforcement Agencies such as HSE, Public Health England and EA.
Legislation, Compliance, Process Optimization and Control:
Lead, implement and maintain Environmental Permitting, Greenhouse Gas Emissions Permit Schemes, Climate Change Agreements, Hazardous Waste Licences, HSE Guidelines L8 and ISO 14001:2015 Certification Safety.
Manages the Site COSHH system to ensure all risk assessments are completed for all substances on site and meets the requirements of COSHH Legislation.
Measures and communicates Asset performance in terms of water/ energy / waste efficiencies & use.
Continuous Improvement on reduction of Energy and Water consumption
What you’ll need:
We will need you to be IEMA Foundation certified for this role, ideally with experience in an environmental role within an FMCG environment.
The successful candidate to will also hold a Degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Sciences and an IEMA Certificate, with an ISO Lead Auditor Qualification is preferred or willing to work towards this.
