Role: Energy Business Development Manager

Salary: £30,000-£35,000 per annum plus car allowance and commission scheme linked to performance

Location: Sheffield HQ - Hybrid/Home working - covering Sheffield/Yorkshire/Lincolnshire/Midlands

Working Hours - Monday to Friday

Glu Recruit have a great opportunity for a motivated and experienced Energy Business Development Manager to lead the business growth of our Sheffield based client.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the energy industry, a proven track record in Business Development, and the ability to identify and capitalize on new opportunities. This role is crucial in driving the company’s expansion and profitability in the energy market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market analysis: Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of the energy market, including trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities.
  • Identify Opportunities: Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities, including new markets, partnerships, acquisitions, and product/service expansions, that sign with the company’s strategic goal.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute Business Development strategies and plans to achieve revenue and growth targets, while adhering to the company’s overall mission and vision.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as customers, suppliers, industry associations, and regulatory bodies.
  • Sales and Negotiation: Lead sales efforts, negotiate contracts, and close deals with potential clients or partners. Develop and implement pricing strategies that ensure profitability.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about relevant laws and regulations in the energy sector and ensure that the company’s activities comply with all legal requirements.
  • Risk Assessment: Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with various Business Development opportunities and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Marketing and Promotion: collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute marketing campaigns and promotional activities that support Business Development initiative.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis, including cost-benefit analysis and ROI calculation, to assess the financial viability of projects and ventures.
  • Reporting and Metrics: Track and report on the progress of the Business Development initiatives using key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, and legal, to ensure the successful execution of Business Development projects.
  • Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in the energy sector to identify innovative solutions and opportunities for growth.

The successful candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Energy Management, or related field (master’s degree preferred)
  • Years of proven experience in Business Development within the energy sector.
  • Strong knowledge of the energy industry, including renewable energy sources and sustainability practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets and revenue goals.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and budget management.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards in the energy sector.
