Position: Energy / Sustainability Engineer

Role Overview:
The Energy / Sustainability Engineer will be involved in all aspects of the implementation and construction stages of energy efficiency renovation projects. Responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site visits to assess existing building services and liaise with subcontractors during the tender stage.
- Develop and regularly track detailed project implementation plans to ensure alignment with timelines and budgets.
- Provide weekly updates to senior management and clients.
- Hold regular meetings with contractors and vendors to ensure program alignment.
- Manage key accounts and maintain strong client relationships.
- Conduct site inspections and energy surveys to produce investment-grade design reports and identify carbon reduction opportunities.
- Oversee energy and sustainability projects from concept to handover stage.
- Prepare sustainability strategies for clients.
- Compile technical and financial reports.
- Complete additional training/education and mentor less experienced staff.
- Monitor and optimize savings during the performance stage using an in-house monitoring and control system.
Required Skills:
- Third Level Diploma/Degree in Facilities/Building Services, Mechanical, Electrical, or Sustainability Engineering.
- Strong technical knowledge of building engineering energy systems.
- Ability to manage projects within timelines and budgets.
- Experience in site work, including auditing and identifying energy-saving opportunities.
- Strong customer focus, resourceful problem solver with initiative, and empathetic to clients' daily business challenges.
- 3+ years of experience in a relevant field.
- Understanding and application of current and proposed sustainability-related legislation (Building and Planning regulations).
- Experience with cost estimates for renewable energy systems.
- Familiarity with preparing tender documentation and associated administration.
- Energy Auditor for SI426/SI599 / Certified Energy Manager.
- Knowledge of building and energy management systems.
