Location: Based in the community - Southwest Edinburgh

About the role:
As an engagement/employability coach you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with local community support organisations, youth workers, local area co-ordinator teams and employers, to build your caseload of young people (participants). You will be required to develop their skills and knowledge by delivering one-to-one support and small groups of engaging sessions on both soft skills, and where appropriate accredited qualifications based on their individual needs and providing personalised guidance to help them achieve their goals.
This position requires strong interpersonal skills, a passion for training and supporting those with multiple complex needs, adapting your training and support methods to meet the diverse needs of individuals aged between 16-19 years old, and in some cases pre-16 engagement support. This is not an exhaustive list; additional duties may be required as deemed necessary by Triage.
Required criteria:
• Experience in delivering employability skills training or similar programs within an environment where all individuals have different learning needs and with a dynamic and creative approach.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect with participants from diverse backgrounds.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate participant’s and adapt training strategies to meet individual needs and change mindsets.
• Experience of working with disadvantaged groups including care experienced and multi-needs individuals, with an employability focus.
 Ability to evaluate individual progress toward their employment goals, adjusting support strategies as needed.
• Ability to positively challenge others.
 Experience of working in a performance target driven environment.
 Driver with access to vehicle and business car insurance.
Desirable criteria:
• Training qualification such as Education & Training or CAVA
• Sound knowledge of Awarding Body requirements and standards.
• Experience of working in recruitment, publicly funded services, or other similar sectors

• You will be comfortable supporting a diverse range of individuals on a 1-2-1 basis or in groups and have very strong engagement and communication skills.
• Conduct initial assessments to determine participant’s starting levels and identify areas for improvement.
• Regularly evaluate individuals progress and adjust delivery strategies accordingly
• Effectively manage varying sized groups of participants, being able to adapt to various learning styles, at different stages in the one group.
• Full responsibility of delivering innovative training solutions, based on local priorities and contractual requirements.
• Feedback on training materials, identifying new and creative ways to engage participation.
• A commitment to continuous professional growth and staying updated on delivery methodologies, resources, and technology.
• Continuously engage in professional development activities to stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in skills delivery.
• Apply new knowledge and techniques to improve delivery effectiveness.
• Ensure all recruitment services are delivered in accordance with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) identified within Service Level Agreements.
• To identify new job/work placement opportunities that match the caseload requirements and capabilities.
• “Sell” the skills and abilities of our participants to the employer.
• Promote and create an awareness of the entire range of Triage services including work experience/trial opportunities, vocational and accredited training as well as support filling vacancies.
• Maximise on repeat employer vacancies and developing existing employer relationships.
• Ensure employers’ requirements and expectations are always met.
• Represents Triage at external meetings to keep abreast of employment opportunities in the area and identify and influence opportunities to influence the design and approach of such initiatives / new opportunities.
