Form of workElevation Recruitment Group are working with a manufacturer based on the outskirts of Leeds to recruit a Body Engineer.
Reporting to Senior Engineer, the Body Engineer will support the creation of 3D CAD data to support programme training as well as support the release of geometry for tooling.
Our client is looking for a self-starter with the ability to be flexible and able to manage multiple ongoing projects and changing priorities.
Duties of the Body Engineer include:
- Support of supplier base ensuring regular meetings and the issuing of relative minutes
- Participation in purchasing matched pairs to ensure component delivery
- 3D CAD geometry against programme timing
- Support the resolution of complex engineering issues
- Support Problem Definition and Root Cause Analysis through Interim and Permanent Corrective Action
- Help create timing plans and the management of their introduction to agreed timelines with a cross-functional team
- Maintain and update documentation to ensure accurate records are kept of investigations, communication and actions
- Responsibility for the creation of clash-free CAD geometry ensuring designs meet all Manufacturing & Service requirements
- Participate in design reviews to ensure adherence to Design Standards
- Use Quality History Reviews and Design Failure Modes & Effects Analyses in new design system design
We are looking for a Body Engineer with the following skills and experience:
- Degree-level education in an engineering field
- Vehicle Electrification knowledge
- Excellent communication skills to interact with all engineering functions
- Proficiency in generating and presenting technical material in a concise manner to suit the audience
- Ability to work in a start-up environment
- CAD system knowledge, Solidworks/Catia or similar
- Experience of new product development within the automotive industry for worldwide market requirements
