Engineering Design Manager

The Premier defence/nuclear project in the UK is looking to add an Engineering Design Manager to their ranks as they look to expand their projects. This is one of the best projects in the industry that will require top level Engineering Design management candidates.

• Job role - Engineering Design Manager
• Location - Reading (1 week on 1 week off)
• Contract Length - 18 Months
• Pay Rate - £67.81 hour (Inside IR35)

Daily Skills and Requirements/Experience:

• Experience of configuration and change control: governance, and implementation on a Nuclear licensed site. Including line of sight from maintenance results to the engineering schedule
• Be responsible for maintaining a live safety case for a facility which will include managing the production of Engineering Design substantiation
• Demonstrate that the new and existing assets (facilities, infrastructure, plant and equipment), are safe to operate and are compliant with legislation, Nuclear Licence Conditions, standards and requirements throughout the asset lifecycle
• Provide management of a professional engineering service in support of the CASD Programme and the company's strategic goals
• Able to work across functions, providing a supportive interface between the Facility, Safety Case Subject Matter Experts and Technical Authorities

Key Qualifications:

• Experience of Maintaining a live safety case
• Experience of conducting assessments to support the Periodic Review of Safety
• Knowledge of legislation and standards relating to safety and safety maintenance within engineering e.g. HSAWA, CDM and their application if needed
