Engineering Manager

Part of a major international engineering group, this organisation is setting up a new division to design & build turnkey automation & robotic assembly manufacturing cells for manufacturing clients throughout Europe. This is a brand new venture and an immediate appointment is required for an experienced Engineering Manager to become an integral member of the senior management team
Engineering Manager
Salary: to £75000 + car allowance
Location: Telford, Shropshire
Reporting to the General Manager and an integral part of the Management team you will be instrumental in leading a small team delivering design & manufacturing engineering services including staff, equipment, budgets, safety, process capabilities and skill sets to ensure the plant achieves its production targets.
Duties :
o Manage the engineering function to produce manufacturing process mechanical design and process system layout for automotive assembly cells and complete production lines.
o Define & optimise detailed process layout and prepare cost guidance for projects
o Attend customer technical reviews and design approvals meeting – UK and Europe
o Effectively manage project timescales, budget and engineering changes
o Develop new manufacturing capabilities and process for new products
Experience:
You will already have significant experience in a Senior Leadership role such an Engineering Manager, Head of Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Manager or similar with a proven background successful delivering assembly systems for complex manufacturing environments.
o Professionally qualified – HND/ Degree in Engineering discipline, ideally with additional management and health safety training 
o Experience gained in high volume tooling, assembly systems and robotic production process ideally gained within the automotive industry or similar
o Broad technical knowledge encompassing mechanical, process, electrical & control engineering
o Experience recruiting, training and leadership of high performing design / manufacturing engineering teams
o Project management of significant new capital investment projects and operational improvements
o Commercially astute and budget responsibility
o Strong problem solving and lean/ continuous improvement experience
o Flexibility to travel within Europe and beyond
