Design Engineer / Product development Lead –

This company are leading the way in cutting edge surveillance / security cameras and networks – they have forged an unprecedented reputation in being able to adapt and employ new technologies with their sector.

Due to an upcoming retirement, they are now seeking a Product Development Lead / Design Engineer to join the team in a senior management role. In this, you will look to become the company’s technical authority, liaising with your fellow engineers, management and sun-contractors – offering  and guidance where required; similarly, you will attend client meetings nationally, where you will be involved in taking briefs, or producing demos of the latest product that they’ve ordered.

You will be managing the company’s product development in general – from initial client brief to final installation of camera’s / security apparatus. Your role will be managing all aspects of the deign process. You will be supported by a group of software developers, and other technical staff, including installers, and will be central to holding regular (weekly) meetings for updates. You will also be engaging with companies where the development needs to be outsourced, and paying on-site visits.

You will also oversee the aftercare service, ensuring any technical changes are communicated and documented, and training of staff (both internal and client staff) will also be a part of this role.

Ideally, you’ll be from a Product development background, within a design / mechanical / electronic engineering sector. Ideally from a Security background (CCTV / ANPR / Camera’s or optics). You’ll require a working knowledge of electronic design, an understanding of software development, as well as leadership skills, and the ability to manage customers at a high end technical level.

It’s a very hands on role, and you can expect a clear handover from the current Development Lead too –

On offer here is a salary of up to £58k - £65k, car allowance, 25 days hols + all bank holidays, and the opportunity to join a well-regarded, hugely successful organisation in a senior role.
