AWE is currently recruiting for an Engineering Production Planner to provide planning services within an Operations Delivery Unit.
Location - Reading/Basingstoke area
Package - Dependent upon suitability & level of experience.

The Role:
- Creation of Route cards within the ERP system.
- To define operations required to manufacture components and assemblies from engineering drawings.
- Create timing estimates for each operation on the route card, setup, and cycle times.
- Resolve any technical issues arising.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, this will include demanders, and shop floor.
- Ensure local MRP system is up to date and accurate.
- Proactively tackle blockers and barriers to progress.
- Ensuring that customer requirements are planned and released to Manufacturing and Operational activities within the timescales required.
- Provide manufacturing cost estimates.
- Demonstrate and use ‘Lean Planning’ techniques and ‘Production Control’ processes such as visual management, Kanban and Push/Pull in the operational/ manufacturing areas.
- Responds positively to the needs of internal and external customers.
- Attend Visual Management board meetings ensuring all actions are being addressed.
- Liaises with Delivery Units for clarification and coordination of balanced and de-conflicted demands and plans.
- Ensure all planned requirements are aligned within the Master Production Schedule/Supplementary Schedule and loaded into the local MRP system (where used).
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have experience and understanding of the following:
- Engineering drawings.
- Manufacturing processes and their capabilities.
- ERP / MRP2 systems
- MS Office (Excel / Word / Outlook / PowerPoint / Project)
In addition, it would be beneficial to have experience and understanding of the following:
- Machining capabilities and new manufacturing technologies.
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
- Inventory control processes.
- Lean principles.
- SAP S4/HANA.
- A relevant manufacturing or planning related professional qualification.
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for this role. Candidates require 10 years continuous residency in the UK and must hold UK citizenship.
