Project Engineering Manager
Overview
Based in East Sussex with occasional secondments to customer locations for installation activities, this hands-on project management position requires a practical ability to be fully successful as physical activities may be required in this position.
The role also has a client-facing dimension being the focal point of contact for the client to resolve technical issues and support the Project Management teams to achieve the on-time delivery of the project.
Projects are multidisciplinary, complex and strategically important to demanding clients, many of whom are leading organisations in aerospace, automotive, and race car industries worldwide.
Skills
- Good interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Engineering background (ideally mechanical or electrical)
- Programme management in a complex multi-disciplinary environment
- Able to lead and influence a wide range of skills and educational levels
- Good estimating and bid preparation abilities
- IT literate with good MS Project abilities
- Global travel at appropriate programme timing (approx. 4 weeks per year max.)
- Supplier timing management
- Customer focused / interfacing
- Willingness to assist the business in practical/manual tasks when priorities dictate
- Permanent UK residency with ability to obtain UK security clearance
Qualifications:
Essential:
Senior Engineering Manager (Projects) (7.8.230F) or Engineering Manager (Projects) (7.8.110F) IRSE licence.
Corporate membership of the IRSE with IEng or higher
Desirable:
MEng or BEng degree level education in an engineering discipline
Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) Certificate
