The Engineering Resource Planning Team are seeking an exceptional individual to take the role of an Engineering Resource Manager within our passionate and driven team. With resource being our biggest asset, we have a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Resource Manager to join the team to provide a fresh look on the project which will drive the delivery of resource on programmes ensuring we have the right skills at the right time.
You will be a key driver in the implementation of a new Resource Planning platform covering Engineering. You will be supporting the implementation of Agile methodologies into JLR projects and processes to meet the new direction of the business. This role will provide a breadth of exposure with an excellent opportunity to work with key stakeholders at all levels within the business.
Key Accountabilties and Responsibilities
- Drive the creation of Resource Demand profiles (from Programme Assumptions/Content) for two key Platforms, working closely with Tech Centres (CoC’s), Programme Management and Programme Finance.
- Ensure Programme Assumptions / Content is refined and agreed ahead of KO (Kick Off) and impact assessments carried out for all content changes post KO
- Ensure Programme Actuals (Bookings) are recorded accurately, working closely with the Programme Management and Tech Centre teams to coordinate this.
- Track demand vs actuals (bookings), highlighting any gaps/risks
- Lead process improvements and ways of working on projects across the area and define best practices
- Undertake and support scenario planning as required
- Be an effective Leader/team-player who supports the team to deliver shared objectives
- Support strategy / future planning to generate 8 year Resource Plan
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience of working in a Project Management role with a track record of successful delivery
- Proven experience of stakeholder management at all levels
- Methodical detailed approach to work
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills to identify how one issue can impact on another and put in place the required interventions through support or from own knowledge base
- Ability to manage significant risks and issues
- Negotiation and adaptability
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
