Role Definition:

As a member of the Torque team within the Manufacturing Engineering Department, the Tool Repair & Service Technician is responsible for the repair, calibration, and installation of all tooling for the production facility.  

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Repair and calibrate all torque tooling.

  • Maintain records of the service and calibration of tools.

  • Support the production line throughout all production periods by responding to breakdowns. 

  • Responsible for the booking in/out of tooling and recording this accordingly.

  • Running of the tool repair crib, which includes monitoring and ordering of spares.

  • Adhere to the company's Health & Safety policy and safe working practices.

  • Adhere to Caterpillar's Values in Action: Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork.

  • Undertake training/further learning as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience of torque tool repairs (including air, battery and DC tooling)

  • Proven mechanical background in a production/manufacturing environment.

  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Windows packages.

  • The ability to communicate at all levels with both internal/external customers and suppliers.

  • Able to work alone as well as part of a team.

  • Willing to work a multi-shift pattern.

  • Excellent organisation skills to manage and prioritise workloads.

  • Be self-motivated and can work on your own initiative.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of calibration systems.

  • Knowledge of Smart tooling solutions

Job Title: Engineering Support Technician

Salary: £32,500 rising to £36,000 (£16.67 rising to £18.45 per hour) Following initial training this role will benefit from an afternoon shift premium
