Job Summary and Duties:
The role will suit empathic, flexible and creative Qualified Teachers with the ability to establish and sustain empathetic relationships in order to achieve long term goals. You will regularly work with a group of up to 5 young people. Experience of mixed phased would be beneficial as would experience of leading vocational qualifications. Occasionally, you will have responsibility for larger groups participating in enrichment and off-site activities.
Duties will include:
- acting as a form tutor to a small group of pupils;
- planning and delivering subject-specific lessons to individual pupils and small groups, ensuring continuity and progression across the school;
- contributing to and reviewing individual education plans (IEPs) and positive behaviour plans (PBPs), alongside other teachers, and implementing them across all lessons;
- communicating regularly with carers and therapists to ensure an integrated team around the child approach for all young people;
- positively contributing to the overall programme of learning for each pupil to ensure their progression, within a range of accredited courses;
- providing a stimulating learning environment for students
Key Skills Required:
1. a nationally recognised degree and relevant qualified teaching status (QTS).
2. experience of teaching children with SEN.
3. confidence and enthusiasm alongside the ability to tailor lesson to suit pupils needs.
4. a commitment to personal professional development and improved performance.
5. experience of teaching to national qualification standards.
