Base Location: Dundreggan / Invergarry
Salary: £35,142 - £40,246 depending on skills and experience + up to 8% performance-related bonus + tools + standby/callout allowances + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

What is the Role?
As Enhanced Craftsperson within SSE Hydro Generation, youll be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance and repair of all hydro plant within your authorisation and competency, as required to keep the plant in an efficient, safe and sustainable condition.
Some of your other main accountabilities will include;
- Deputising for, and supporting the Team Leader and others by assisting planning and scheduling work; utilising IT systems where required, and ensuring the highest level of health, safety, and environmental compliance on our sites.
- Displaying your strong knowledge of policies and procedures, by ensuring they are applied correctly throughout the business.
- Act as Principal Contractor representative, and ambassador for the business, during site works. This includes the supervision of contractors or operational staff where required in line with the organisational structure for the project/Outage.
- Coordinating, supervising and completing specified packages of work, including Maximo document management for work activities.
- Working as part of a team in a proactive manner, to maximise overall business efficiency within the resource limitations. This will also include training, mentoring and developing others.
- Operating and maintaining plant and apparatus throughout a Hydro Scheme and as required, across Hydro Generation.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have;
- Ideally, youll have achieved SVQ level 3 or NC equivalent in a related discipline, with experience of supervising a team or work party.
- Proven experience in a similar Electrical/Mechanical related technology or industrial environment.
- Good working knowledge and application of the CDM regulations to meet legal requirements for duty holders under the regulation.
- Experience of completing routine inspections, including checks on power stations, dams, buildings and civil catchments, maintaining all premises and plant.
- Familiarity with the legal and environmental requirements to successfully manage the duties of the position.
You will also be required to have or work towards the following;
- Knowledge of safe systems of work and preferably working under safety rules or a permit system. Successful candidates will be provided training and assessment to successfully achieve authorisation under SSERs business specific SSOW and rule set.
-Ideally holding an SMSTS qualification with a good understanding of legislation supporting maintenance and operational activities including LOLER , PUWER as this forms a considerable part of the role.
- You must also be willing to work outside normal working hours in all weathers, within stations, at height, in confined spaces and other diverse environments.
As travel will be involved in this role, you must also have a full and valid driving license.
Due to the nature of this role, you should live, or be willing to relocate, within a 30 mile radius of the base location.
