Job description
Act as a role model demonstrating high standards of care and providing clinical leadership to others. To work autonomously with the Colorectal Consultant Team, Ward Nursing team and Multi-disciplinary team to establish an Enhanced Recovery Care Programme Pathway. To be pivotal to the delivery of the Enhanced Recovery Programme by co-ordinating patient care from an outpatient, inpatient and community setting. To see patients at pre-assessment clinic and throughout their inpatient stay, reinforcing the goals of an Enhanced Recovery Programme and working alongside the ward based nursing and multidisciplinary teams. To collaborate with the multidisciplinary team with regard to discharge planning and the implementation of a colorectal telephone review clinic. .

Registered Nurse on Part 1 of the live NMC Register.Have a Nursing Degree AND 3 years post-registration experience in a Surgical Ward managing patients undergoing Colorectal surgeryOR Have 5 years post-registration experience as a Band 5 including 3 years in a Surgical Ward managing patients undergoing Colorectal surgery and hold a post- registration Certificate in Surgical Nursing.
