Enterprise Architect

Job DescriptionWe're looking for an Enterprise Architect to join our IT team in Milton Keynes. You will be responsible for overseeing Enterprise Architecture throughout the Connells Group. Ensuring that technology strategy and change are aligned to the overall business strategy, outcomes and capabilities across the enterprise. You will also play a key part in driving future technology architecture in the business along with the Infrastructure and Development teams. This is a hybrid role, with 1 day a week in the office.Key responsibilities of the Enterprise Architect:

• Build and maintain an enterprise and technical architecture framework, and corresponding guidance and standards to ensure solution architecture is fit for purpose.
• Facilitate alignment between business and IT teams maintaining relationships and telling the future state story.
• Lead the technical design authority working with the architects across all the domains to ensure that all architectural solutions are clearly documented, approved and meet the business needs.
• Support the architects, engineering teams, infrastructure teams and delivery teams to deliver quality solutions consistently to meet business needs through minimum viable architectures.
• Own the future technology blueprint for Connells Group.
• Lead the overall technology consolidation across the group working closely with the development and infrastructure directors and architects.
• Develop and document the high-level knowledge and expertise of how our systems fit together and a broader context of the external world of technology in general.
• Engage with key internal stakeholders and suppliers, and drive innovation in technology.
• Complete technical due diligence for all new acquisitions for the group. Lead the solution architects to clearly articulate the future state for business areas or strategic initiatives through a consultative approach.

Experience & skills required to be successful as an Enterprise Architect:

• Experience of Enterprise Architecture or systems architecture development, including the following disciplines: business analysis, applications/systems engineering, data architectures and technical architectures.
• Track record of operating at senior levels of an organisation and translating technology into simple business language.
• Practical experience of one or more architecture frameworks and any associated architecture development methods, including TOGAF certified or equivalent.
• Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics.
• Understanding of business models, operating models, financial models, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting and risk management.
• Understanding of various operating models such as project-centric and product-centric and also different types of agile principles, methodologies and frameworks, especially those designed to be scaled at the enterprise level.
