Environment Officer

A client within the Public Sector based in Northamptonshire is currently recruiting for an Environment Officer to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority.

The Role

Key purpose of the role to undertake to support the provision of appropriate specialist advice on natural environment issues, with a technical specialism in ecology.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• make a proactive and positive contribution to the effective delivery of the Planning Service, this will include working flexibly and positively to achieve the objectives of the council.
• deliver excellent customer service in every interaction for all internal and external customers, including Councillors.
• respond in a timely and professional manner to requests for support from members of the public seeking to engage with the Planning Service. This will include providing support to the Customer Contact Centre and the Complaints and Customer Feedback teams where required.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require to be a full Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management.

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

• Extensive experience of working in local government providing a high standard of timely ecological advice to the development management service and other relevant services.
• Relevant undergraduate degree and postgraduate qualification.
• Purpose of role is principally to comment on planning applications from an ecology perspective.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £50 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
