Environmental, Health and Safety Officer - Part Time

Just Recruitment is working with a manufacturing business, based in Sudbury - they have other sites in the UK.
They are looking for an EHS Officer to work with the site teams, to provide expert advice, to promote involvement and drive improvements to site safety culture and performance in compliance with all business conduct policies, guidelines, and the local site Life Saving Rules at all times.
This is a PART TIME role, working 3 full days a week, they can be flexible on days between Monday and Thursday.
Responsibilities/Duties:
*To coordinate, develop and aid the implementation of the site's EHS systems, to ensure fit for purpose, efficient and effective and in compliance with legislation (SSoW, Permit to Work, Near Miss Reporting, Job Hazard Analysis etc.), audits and inspections, environmental monitoring, health monitoring and industrial hygiene).
*To develop site specific EHS systems and EHS procedures meeting the requirements of U.K. legislation in line with the sites needs and organisational structure. To assess written and practiced compliance against agreed standards via gap analysis, process confirmation and audit.
*Work with Occupational Health in coordinating the Site's Health Surveillance Programme. Implement and manage a comprehensive Occupational Health Programme.
*Coordinate risk assessments, COSHH assessments and PUWER assessments for the site to meet material and process requirements. Maintain and review site legal register to ensure compliance with U.K legislation.
*Be site lead for ISO45001 OHSMS and ISO14001 EMS certification, delivering and coordinating the processes for the Management Systems across the site. Be site contact for external regulatory bodies. (HSE, Environment Agency, Local Authority)
* Coordinate emissions monitoring and solvent management plan; submitting results to the Local Authority. Coordinate personal VOC, Dust exposure monitoring, face-fit testing, DSEAR assessments and manage any resulting actions. Through monitoring, measuring, and advising, ensure site compliance under the LAPPC permit.
*Forms part of the site Emergency Team and is responsible for reviewing and maintaining the site emergency plan, investigating emergency situations, and participating in the recovery of such situations on site during and outside normal working hours.
*Identify EHS training needs and plan and provide training to pursue the achievement of improved EHS competencies and skills for all associates.
*The job will entail visits to site outside of normal work hours as necessary, this may be to see individuals, brief teams or to inspect / monitor activity, and this will be regarded as an expected part of this job.
Qualifications, skills, knowledge & Experience:
IOSHH trained in Managing Safely.
Holder of NEBOSH General Certificate.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Health and Safety in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in internal auditing and managing ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards essential.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Ability to engage with staff at all levels and achieve clear and concise two-way communication.
Developing personnel so that they have sufficient skills to meet the EHS objectives of the business.
Understanding of manufacturing environments and processes.
Recognised within the business as a champion of safety and environmental performance.
Ensure accurate record keeping/document retention systems are kept in line with our legal obligations.
