Wakefield Environmental Health are looking a Senior or Environmental Health Officer; to work in our busy Regulatory Compliance team, specialising in Food Safety.
The new positions are offered on a permanent full-time basis (37-hour posts). We offer flexible working across 37 hours full-time. Choose to be home based with all equipment provided or work from our modern office (Wakefield One -next to Westgate Station) or mix both alternatives. Visit residents and businesses from home or the office it’s your choice.
Applicants must hold a degree or master’s in Environmental Health and be registered with the Chartered Institute Environmental Health (CIEH). They should be knowledgeable in one of the two options below, however candidates still studying but close to CIEH registration are welcome to apply.
Food Safety Officer: will carry out official food controls in businesses including high to low risk, large manufacturers and those needing approval. Workloads may also include audits, revisits, sampling, food fraud and complaint investigations; responding to serious food safety risks, infectious diseases and food poisoning outbreaks. Officers should demonstrate their competency as required in the Food Law Code of Practice.
