Environmental Land Contamination Consultant 

AA Environmental Limited are a young and progressive consultancy. We specialise in delivering practical solutions to complex issues to protect and enhance the environment. We are involved in a range of scales of development, ranging from National Infrastructure to small and often more complex development sites. We have two vacancies working within the Land Contamination and Remediation Team to assist with the valuation of contamination hazards, preparing risk assessments, undertaking ground investigations, soil and water sampling and supervising the implementation/validation of remediation strategies for projects within the construction, waste and development sector. 

 

This role includes field work, report writing of key supporting documents/risk assessments, communicating with Clients, site inspections and environmental sampling. The role is based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire but the candidate will be expected to travel to sites, as necessary.

 

You should have a background and interest in one of the following disciplines: environmental science, geology, physical chemistry and geosciences. 

 

You must be educated to at least to degree level and be able to demonstrate good quality report writing. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with an interest in developing a career in the assessment of Land Contamination risk to human health and controlled waters, and the sustainable redevelopment of brownfield sites. You must be diligent and able to organise yourself to be on time, delivering work to set timelines. As part of a Client friendly Company, you will be positive, professional and build rapport with Clients. Applicable work experience is desired. 

The successful candidate will be supported by AAe and trained to perform the role. We invest in the continuing development of our staff and their role progression.

• Full Time

• From £25,000 per annum

• Bonus (dependent on Company performance)

• Expenses and mileage claimable for site visit work (upon agreement)

• Educated to degree level: ideally in environmental science, geology, physical chemistry and geosciences

• Attention to detail

• Ability to undertake site work, when required

• A ‘can do’ attitude and good work ethic

• Good standard of report writing

• Communicate effectively

• Good use of Microsoft Excel and Word

• Able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team

• Clean UK/EU driving licence

 

The successful candidate will be required to travel to site and consequently must be a UK qualified driver.
