As an Environmental Operative, you’ll work closely with the Environmental Grounds Advisor to deliver required inspections of grounds maintenance features and upkeep activities for SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems) features across all ADSL sites.

Your responsibilities will include carrying out basic maintenance activities on SUDS features and grounds across all sites, including but not limited to – removal of basal growths and ivy from trees, weeding, planting and grass cutting.

You’ll also be responsible for keeping to the schedule of tree planting and watering activities across all sites, as well as identifying and reporting any non-conformance of grounds maintenance and generally supporting habitat improvement activities and initiatives.

This means that, above all else, you should have passion for and knowledge of the natural environment, as well as experience of grounds maintenance amongst other key skills. You should also have good communication and work well alone or in a team, because sometimes you may be required to take up individual tasks.

You should be a team player and have a flexible approach to work, willing to learn new things, because you’ll be part of a team that supports one another to ensure deliverables are met. You’ll also receive continued support to develop new skills in order to deliver on set objectives.

Ready to join the team?

You must have a fully valid UK driving licence and experience in grounds maintenance, landscape management, habitat restoration, ecology, or similar area. In addition, working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements and knowledge of wildlife and the natural environment would be desirable.

Salary: Up to £25,700 dependent on skills and experience 
Location: Tidworth
