Do you want an exciting role working in a beautiful coastal district with a great employer? Come to East Suffolk to join our progressive and supportive organisation, where people really do care.

We have two fantastic opportunities to join the established and growing Environmental Protection Team. The team is responsible for responding to planning applications, managing the Private Water Supplies regime for over 500 commercial and domestic premises, Local Air Quality Management, animal licensing and welfare, noise and nuisance investigations, pollution control, bathing waters and premises licensing representations.

East Suffolk, with easy links to both Norwich and London, stretches from Felixstowe, the busiest UK port, to Lowestoft in the North with 50 miles of beautiful coastline in between, including an Area of Natural Beauty. It is home to Latitude festival, Blue Flag beaches, numerous Nationally Significant Infrastructure projects such as Sizewell C Nuclear power station, Lowestoft flood defences and the Gull Wing bridge and significant regeneration projects for which we play an important consultative role.

Internal promotion and growth of the team means we have two vacancies for innovative and dedicated Environmental Protection Officers. So, if you are passionate about making a meaningful difference to the community we serve, with the skillset to undertake complex and technically challenging case work and projects please apply to come and join our supportive and progressive Environmental Protection Team.

What you will need:

You should hold a Level 6 postgraduate qualification in Environmental Health or an Environmental Health Protection-related subject. You should also be able to work outside normal office hours to meet the demands of the service.

If you think you have what it takes to be successful in this role, even if you don’t meet all of the essential requirements, please apply.

We would appreciate the opportunity to consider your application.
