This role reporting into the UK SHE manager and sits in the HSE Department. Being a new position it is a really exciting time for someone joining as you will be part of the early stages of environmental strategy and planning for the business, can get involved in projects and can support with ideas on what this could look like.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Lead the management of the sites EPR permit, including liaison with the relevant regulator to manage compliance and implement Best Available Techniques.
- EPR reporting requirements including abatement systems relating to emissions management and Operator Monitoring assessments.
- Lead and develop strategies to improve environmental awareness and sustainability opportunities for the UK site, linking in with group plans.
- Implement and lead energy efficiency management, water resource management and carbon reduction opportunities for the UK site, including KPI development and planning.
- Provide detailed advice on waste management, including the recover and disposal of hazardous waste to WM3 requirements.
- Lead Emissions Management, interpretation of reports and Operator Monitoring Assessments.
- Alongside Group and the UK HSE Manager, you support the development and execution of the Environmental & Sustainability strategy to align with the site SHE Improvement Plans.
- Preparation of performance reports (waste, air emissions, water use, energy use, incident KPIs, scheduling stack monitoring.)
What we are looking for-
- You must hold a relevant environmental qualification such as- NEBOSH Environmental Diploma or Certificate, Environmental Science or Sustainability Degree etc.
- AEIMA or equivalent is essential.
- On the job experience in a similar role, in particular it is essential you have experience leading the management of the sites EPR permits and EPR reporting requirements, including liaison with the relevant regulator- this is essential. Any additional experience around permit variation or secondary containment would be useful as there are projects around this.
- Experience maintaining or auditing ISO 14001
- Ideally you will have worked within a manufacturing business, but we will consider other sectors.
- Working as part of a small HSE department, they need someone who is a team player and will support in other areas when needed.
You will be based at their manufacturing site in North Northamptonshire, but occasional home working is permitted using a common-sense approach, depending on the tasks.
They salary on offer is between £45-55,000 depending on experience + package which includes a bonus, a generous pension and private medical.
This will be a two stage interview process, first stage virtually and second stage on site.
