This advert is open to both Internal and External applicants.
Develop and implement policies to help residents of Stoke-on-Trent to reuse, recycle and reduce waste more easily.
• Provide advice, information and education to the public and run events and schemes to promote the reuse, recycling and reduction of waste.
Liaise with relevant departments to identify those properties that are contaminating recycling containers and takes appropriate action.
• Develop and deliver a waste minimisation /recycling program to the residents of Stoke on Trent
• Organise and actively participate in road shows, events, presentations to the public, community groups, businesses or other relevant bodies to increase the awareness of the importance of recycling and waste minimisation issues.
• To prepare publicity material and exhibitions and to actively assist households, the community and businesses in waste minimisation, reuse and recycling initiatives.
• To liaise with waste collection and disposal services to identify poor performing areas and to take appropriate action when identified.
• To develop and maintain a robust database of recycling throughout the city including recycling quality.
• To prepare and present data and statistical information relating to the
job role to the minimisation function to the Service Manager – Environmental Sustainability.
• To assist in the reporting of regulatory waste data requirements including Waste Data Flow Page 2 of 5
• Maintain an up to date knowledge of legislation relating to recycling and to keep abreast of all aspects of waste minimisation, re use and recycling.
• Assist in the development of recycling options and to assist in undertaking research to assess established and new recycling initiatives.
• Analyse database of statistical information relating to recycling and waste management
