Job description

The opportunity

Are you passionate about fostering a more inclusive and diverse academic environment? If so, join our forward-thinking team at Central Saint Martins (CSM) as the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Project Manager.

In this pivotal role, you will oversee a range of action plans aimed at creating a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive atmosphere within our college.

Your responsibilities will include improving recruitment processes to enhance representation of Black, Asian, and minority ethnic staff, supporting the development of teaching and learning enhancements, and contributing to the decolonisation of curricula. You'll work closely with various stakeholders, including the UAL EDI team, to ensure our initiatives are data-driven and impactful.

About you

We are looking for a proactive and experienced professional with a strong background in leading EDI initiatives and managing complex projects using a data-driven approach.
You should possess a deep understanding of the Equality Act 2010, including positive action and equality impact assessments, and have experience working with both quantitative and qualitative data.

Your ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience, deliver training, and conduct consultations will be crucial. Additionally, you should be skilled in problem-solving, planning, and managing resources to achieve long-term objectives.

We are UAL

University of the Arts London (UAL) offers an extensive range of courses in art, design, fashion, communication and performing arts. We are a collegiate University spread across London with six Colleges, four Institutes and five Research Centres. We’re made up of all types of people, coming together in London, the world’s creative capital. We are designers, artists, performers, thinkers, researchers and makers. Our students, staff and graduates form a global network of creatives, entrepreneurs and leaders. Together, our ideas change the world. Because the world needs creativity.

We are ranked highly across the board. We are ranked first for specialist art and design, second in the world for Art and Design in the 2023 QS World University Rankings (for the fifth year in a row), ranked fifth in sustainability and two of our colleges were rated in the top three fashion schools in the world.
