Job description

CK Group are recruiting for an Equipment and Facility Engineer to join a manufacturing company at their site based in Cambridge on a full time, permanent basis.
The Company:
Our client provides state-of-art process technologies and device solutions to revolutionise the electronics industry. They are now recruiting for a skilled Equipment and Facility Engineer to be the point of contact for all aspects related to facility and equipment in the company. The successful candidate will have semiconductor facilities and equipment experience. This is an important role in the fast-growing company to allow smooth R&D and production work and to revolutionise the future.
Location:
The Equipment and Facility Engineer will be based at the company's site in Cambridge, easily commutable from surrounding areas such as Huntingdon, Ely, Bury St Edmonds, Newmarket, Haverhill, Royston, St Neots etc.
Your main duties will be to:

  • Develop and upgrade cleanroom environment and facilities to allow R&D and production work
  • Perform equipment upgrade from proof-of-concept (e.g. drawing) to execution
  • Analyse equipment breakdowns and develop corrective actions accordingly
  • Sustain continuous improvement to enhance equipment reliability and scalability
  • Develop preventive maintenance procedures to reduce equipment breakdowns
  • Develop troubleshooting procedures to reduce machine downtime
  • Setup and commission new equipment
  • Carry out Equipment and the facility systems maintenance to allow minimal interruption to production
  • Upgrade the cleanroom environment to allow effective production process

Your Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
  • Proven industry experience as an equipment engineer in a chemical or semiconductor manufacturing environment (wet etch equipment experience will be advantageous)
  • Understanding of electronic and mechanical principles
  • Ideally degree or HND qualified in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline
  • Experience in maintaining equipment
  • Strong training skills and technical familiarity with product and equipment
  • Fluid dynamics or thermal modelling experiences preferred
